The David of Abia campaign team has vehemently frowned at what it described as political desperation and impersonation seen in Abia State where an unauthorized group loyal to a factional candidate for the 2027 election, intentionally wants to distract voters with an unauthorised, misleading and mischievous T-shirt bearing the inscription “Ceekay for Otti Sustenance 2027,” in circulation in Abia State.

According to the press release on Saturday 18th July 2026 by the media team, they stated categorically and without equivocation, that there is no alignment whatsoever between Hon. Ceekay Igara as a candidate and Dr Alex Otti the current Governor of Abia State and will never be any such alignment, as they remained a people anchored on truth, justice, and integrity of character.

The team condemned this act of impersonation in its entirety and call on those responsible to cease and desist forthwith, or face the full consequences of the law for brand impersonation and the deliberate misleading of the public as they however urged their teeming supporters and followers to remain focused, resolute, and undistracted by the antics of those whose stock-in-trade is division, deception, and political sabotage.

“Our attention has been drawn to a mischievous T-shirt bearing the inscription “Ceekay for Otti Sustenance 2027,” reportedly sighted around Ada Ujureze Junction in Ebem Oha Ward in Ohafia Local Government Area, Umuahia and other parts of Abia State that may not yet have come to our notice.

Ordinarily, we would not dignify such a cheap and desperate act with a response. However, for the benefit of the truth-loving people of Abia who believe in the light that Hon. Ceekay Igara “the David of Abia” is bringing to our dear state, and to forestall any attempt to mislead the public, we consider it necessary to issue this clarification.

We wish to state, categorically and without equivocation, that there is no alignment whatsoever between Hon. Ceekay Igara as a candidate and Alex Otti the current Governor of Abia State. There will never be any such alignment, as we remain a people anchored on truth, justice, and integrity of character.

We find it curious that panic has suddenly gripped the camp of those peddling this falsehood. These are the same individuals who, until now, dismissed our movement as inconsequential and no threat to their ambitions. One must ask: what has changed? Do they know something the ordinary Abian does not or something we, too, know with certainty?

We condemn this act in its entirety and call on those responsible to cease and desist forthwith, or face the full consequences of the law for brand impersonation and the deliberate misleading of the public.

We reiterate, without reservation, that Hon. Ceekay Igara, a man of proven integrity and unimpeachable character has not aligned, and will not align, with anyone outside his known convictions. To do so would be entirely at odds with the man we know him to be.

We urge our teeming supporters to remain focused, resolute, and undistracted by the antics of those whose stock-in-trade is division, deception, and political sabotage.
