BREAKING: EFCC Declares Ex-gov. Yahaya Bello Wanted | Read Details
Following his evasion of arrest and arraignment, former Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello, has been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Bello is wanted for alleged money laundering to the tune of N80, 246, 470, 088.88 (Eighty Billion, Two Hundred and Forty Six Million, Four Hundred and Seventy Thousand and Eight Nine Naira, Eighty Eight Kobo).
Declaring Bello Wanted, EFCC wrote in their social media handle on Thursday evening;
“Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, is wanted by the EFCC for offences relating to economic and financial crimes to the tune of N80.2 Billion. Anybody with information as to his whereabout should report immediately to the Commission or the nearest Police Station.”
Recall that Bello had evaded arrest on Wednesday as he was whisked away by governor Usman Ododo from his Abuja residence while the anti graft agency’s operatives laid siege.
He also failed to appear before justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal high court Abuja on Thursday.
