Governor, Alex Otti has given approval for the payment of school fees for Abia students in India, as well as 271 Abia students in Nigerian Law Schools.
This was disclosed to journalists on Wednesday, by the State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Prince Okey Kanu after the State Executive Council Meeting chaired by the governor himsel.
According to the Commissioner, the gesture over the Abia students in India is to enable them continue their studies, having been abandoned by the previous administration.
The Commissioner said;
“Following Governor Alex Otti’s interest and the high premium he placed on students, the governor has graciously approved the payment of school fees of Abia students in India. He also approved the payment of school fees of 271 Abia students in Nigeria Law Schools,”
Kanu also disclosed that governor Alex Otti has secured the accreditation of 19 programmes for the Abia State University Uturu, ABSU.
