Rivers State Electoral Commission Fixes Date For LGA Elections | Read Details 

The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has scheduled October 5, 2024, for Local Government Area elections in the state.

This was disclosed by the RSIEC chairman, Adolphus Enebeli, during a stakeholders’ meeting in Port Harcourt on Monday, July 1.

Enebeli said the election became necessary following the expiration of tenure for the previous local government chairmen and councilors.

Trustbase News had reported that governor Siminalayi Fubara appointed caretaker committee chairmen for the state’s 23 local government areas.
