How 2 ministers, 6 others died in Ghana helicopter crash | Read Details
A Z-9 helicopter belonging to the Ghana Armed Forces, moving from Accra, the capital, to Obuasi, a gold-mining town in the south, on Wednesday, crashed.

The crash claimed the lives of two ministers, and six other crew headed for an official engagement.
Edward Omane Boamah, Ghana’s defence minister and Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, the minister of environment, science and technology, died.
Others are;
Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Ghana’s deputy national security coordinator and former agriculture minister, and Samuel Sarpong, vice chairman of Mahama’s National Democratic Congress party.

The Ghanaian Armed Forces had reported earlier Wednesday that an air force helicopter had fallen off radar after taking off from Accra just after 9:00 am. It had been headed towards the town of Obuasi, northwest of the capital.
Meanwhile, the remains have been recovered from the crash site located in the Sikaman area, near Adansi Akrofuom in Ghana’s Ashanti Region and deposited at the 37 Military Hospital for preservation and preparations for burial.
According to a statement by the Acting Director General, Public Relations, Ghana Navy, Captain Veronica Arhin, government officials, military personnel, and sympathisers led by the Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Julius Debrah, received the bodies.
