Simon Ekpa cuts ties with Nigeria, returns medals he won | Read Details
A Finland based Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB secessionist, Simon Ekpa, says he has cut ties with Nigeria as he has returned all athletic medals he won for Nigeria.
Ekpa disclosed this via his X handle on Monday, July 15, 2024.
He wrote;
“I have successfully returned the medals i won for Nigeria during my athletic days, the medals were delivered today to the Minister of Foreign Affairs @YusufTuggar, the medals was delivered by the DHL as you can see the evidence of the delivery here.
With this development, every ties between me and Nigeria both in sports, spiritually and physically is hereby cut off completely.
The medals are as follows.
1. 2003 African Junior SILVER MEDAL.
2. ExxonMobile track and field GOLD MEDAL.
3 ExxonMobile track and field SILVER MEDAL.
Other medals has nothing to do with Nigeria, so i retain them.
Stop calling me a former Nigeria athlete.”
