BREAKING: 1st Civil Governor Of Abia, Ogbonnaya Onu Is Dead | READ DETAILS
The first civil governor of Abia State and former Minister for Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, is dead.
According to Tribune, a source close to the deceased who confirmed on Thursday, that Onu died after a brief illness in an undisclosed hospital in Nigeria.
Recall that 72-year-old Onu contested for the 2023 presidential ticket of the All Progressive Congress (APC) but lost to Ahmed Tinubu.
He was the first civilian governor of Abia State and was the minister of science, technology and innovation of Nigeria from November 2015 until his resignation in 2022.
The Abia State governor was the longest serving minister of the ministry.
