The National Television Authority (NTA), says it has Secured rights to broadcast all 52 matches of the upcoming 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

NTA made this known in a statement it released on Wednesday on it’s social media handles.

“NTA signs memorandum of understanding with Afro sports for transmission of 52 matches of African cup of nations in Cote d’ivoire” the Nigeria’s TV station wrote.

This comes after MultiChoice, the parent body of DSTV and GOTV announced their inability to broadcast the tournament last week Wednesday as it lost rights to broadcast the matches.

The 2023 AFCON kicks off with the Group A match between the host nation, Ivory Coast, and Guinea Bissau at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan on January 13, 2024.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles, placed in Group A alongside Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea Bissau, will open their campaign against Equatorial Guinea at the same venue on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at 3PM Nigerian time, as they aim for their fourth AFCON title.
