2026 WCQ Playoffs: Don’t change winning Super Eagles – Ikpeba warns
Former international Victor Ikpeba has advised Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle to keep faith with the team that thrashed the Cheetahs of Benin 4-0 in Uyo last month.
The big win helped the Super Eagles earn a berth in the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs.
Éric Chelle’s side will take on the Panthers of Gabon in the semi-final of the playoffs at the 22,000-capacity Complexe Sportif Prince Héritier Moulay Al Hassan in Rabat next Thursday.
Ikpeba said it is important for the Malian to keep faith with the squad that beat Benin.
“You don’t change a winning team,” Ikpeba told SuperSport.
“It’s a second chance for us to qualify for the World Cup.
“We have to get it right this time, especially as we did not qualify for Qatar 2022.”
