2027: Protesters storm SDP NWC meeting
In what seems to be a setback to the efforts of the opposition to oust the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) in the 2027 general elections, some members of the Social Democratic Party, (SDP), this Tuesday, 24/7/25, staged a protest leading to the attempt to pull down the main gate of the National Secretariat in Wuse 2, Abuja.
Reports say the protest broke out while the party’s National Working Committee was meeting at the party’s headquarters.
According to sources, the reasons for this development are still sketchy at the time of filing in the report, the action may be part of the plot by external influence to prevent the use of the platform for any viable coalition.
One of the protesters however whispered that the crisis is connected to the planned imposition of former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai on the party’s leadership. Recall that El-Rufai had recently defected to the SDP.
