FCTA seals off Fuel station, Bank over non-payment of ground rent

Barely one week after the headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was sealed off by the Federal Capital Territory Administration, the office this Monday, May 26, continued to carry out its threat as it sealed off the Total Energies Fuel State and an Access Bank building all located in the Wuse area of Abuja.

Media Assistant to, Nyesom Wike, the FCT Minister, Lere Olayinka, in a post on his X revealed that the fuel station located in Wuse Zone 3 was sealed off over its failure to pay FCT ground rent.

According to Olayinka, an Access Bank building in the popular Wuse Market and the building housing the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) in Wuse zone 3 were also among offices sealed off.

He made public that FIRS is owing the FCTA ground rent of 25 years while Access Bank owes 34 years of rent.

Hanto Daily News reports that another Access Bank Branch in the same Wuse had earlier been sealed off over the same offence.

Recall, the FCTA had recently revoked 4,794 land titles across Abuja’s prime districts over non-payment of ground rent.
