Lagos Court Sentence Medical Director of Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, to life imprisonment for defiling his wife’s niece.
The Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence sitting in Ikeja on Tuesday sentenced the Medical Director of Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, Doctor Olufemi Olaleye, to life imprisonment for the defilement of his wife’s niece.
The judge held that the evidence of the victim and that of the doctor who examined her were credible and enough to prove the alleged crime against Olaleye beyond reasonable doubt.
In December 2022, Dr. Femi Olaleye, was remanded in the Ikoyi Correctional Centre pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions.
He was arraigned before the court on a two-count charge of defilement and sexual assault by penetration of the teenage girl.
The court claimed that Olaleye’s confessional testimony and his wife’s exchange of emails and WhatsApp chats proved sufficient evidence against him.
The confession and undertaking he drafted and signed at the Anthony Police Station with his lawyer, Olalekan Buruji, and his NBA seal, according to Justice Oshodi, further proved he had sexually assaulted the woman and made her suck his manhood.
He was found guilty of defiling and sexually penetrating a 15-year-old minor.
The judge ruled that all of the evidence presented to the court supported the victim’s testimony and that the prosecution had established its case beyond a reasonable doubt.
