AFCON 2025: Uganda confident of challenging Nigeria, Tunisia — Aucho
Uganda captain Khalid Aucho has declared that the team is ready for battle ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, DAILY POST reports.
The Cranes have been drawn in a challenging group alongside heavyweights Nigeria and Tunisia, as well as Tanzania.
The Super Eagles and Carthage Eagles are widely regarded as favourites to claim the top two spots in the group.
Aucho, however, expressed confidence that Uganda can hold their own against their illustrious opponents.
“It’s not an easy group. These are big nations, all with ambition to lead the table. But we also know our capabilities,” Aucho was quoted by CAFonline.
“With the experience we have added to the squad, we can combine well and compete. It will be tough, but I believe we can advance to the next round.”
Uganda, runners-up at the 1978 AFCON, will be making their ninth appearance at the tournament in Morocco.
The competition is scheduled to kick off on December 21.
