Atlético Madrid are set to finalise the signing of Ademola Lookman after reaching a verbal agreement worth €40m, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Fabrizio reported on X on Sunday that the player has made his preference clear, informing all parties that he wants to prioritise Atlético’s proposal despite Fenerbahçe offering a higher salary.

“With verbal agreement on €40m deal. Formal steps expected today then… here we go,” Romano tweeted, signalling the transfer is close to completion.

Lookman’s decision shows his ambition to join Atlético Madrid, as the Spanish club moves swiftly to secure the England international ahead of other suitors.
