Austin Okai dumps PDP for ADC
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Austin Okai, has resigned his membership of the party.
The Kogi-born socio-political activist, who confirmed his resignation to DAILY POST on Monday, said he has joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Prior to the protracted leadership crisis rocking the PDP, Okai had been one of the party’s key image makers, giving a series of interviews to national dailies and television stations.
DAILY POST reports that a large number of politicians from different parties recently joined the ADC when the party was formally unveiled in the Kogi West Senatorial District.
During the unveiling, which took place over the weekend, former lawmaker Senator Dino Melaye projected the ADC as the only viable option for Nigerians, lamenting the increasing hardship in the country.
The former lawmaker said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has made life difficult for Nigerians, stressing that there is massive hunger and starvation across the country.
