Christian genocide: You can’t dictate our foreign policy – U.S. lawmaker tells China
U.S. Congressman Rep. Riley M. Moore has fired back at the People’s Republic of China over its stance on the alleged Christian genocide in Nigeria.
DAILY POST reports that China on Tuesday warned against foreign interference in Nigeria’s internal affairs, following a recent threat by President Donald Trump.
Trump, who designated Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern over the alleged persecution of Christians, had threatened possible military action.
However, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Mao Ning, in a statement on Tuesday, said the nation remains firmly opposed to the use of religion or human rights as a pretext to meddle in the domestic affairs of sovereign nations.
Reacting to China’s position, Rep. Moore, in a post on his official X handle, said China would not dictate U.S. foreign policy.
He wrote, “President Trump is absolutely right to defend our brothers and sisters in Christ who are suffering horrific persecution, and even martyrdom, for their faith in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
“China will not dictate our foreign policy to us, and we will not be lectured to by a Communist autocracy that recently arrested 30 Christian pastors for their faith and throws ethnic minorities in concentration camps.”
