EPL: Why Chelsea defeated Liverpool 2-1 – Assistant coach Caballero
Chelsea assistant coach Willy Caballero has suggested why his team defeated Liverpool 2-1 in the Premier League on Saturday.
A late dramatic goal from Willian Estevão ensured Chelsea’s victory over Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.
However, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca was shown a red card after his wild celebration following Estevão’s goal.
Maresca was already on a booking after complaining about a VAR decision on a penalty, and the Italian sprinted the length of the pitch to celebrate with his players.
Speaking in his post-match interview, Caballero suggested that the Blues triumphed because they finished the game strong and determined against the Reds.
According to the Argentine, Chelsea do not look for excuses but for solutions.
“We finished well. We finished strong,” Caballero said.
“Enzo said it before, we are a good team to play football. We created chances in the first half.
“They had a few, but we deserved the second goal. The way that we fought today with four full-backs in the back four is something incredible.
“All of us are so proud of our players. We didn’t look for excuses. We found a solution.”
