Ex-Kano Deputy Governor Gawuna formally joins ADC
Former Deputy Governor of Kano State Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna has officially defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), completing his registration at his ward in Gawuna, Nasarawa Local Government Area.
Gawuna was accompanied during the exercise by the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who had also formally joined the ADC on Monday.
His move to the ADC follows closely on the heels of his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC), announced on Monday, in what observers describe as a notable shift in Kano’s political dynamics.
The registration event attracted a large turnout of supporters and party faithful, who gathered to show their support.
The joint appearance of Gawuna and Kwankwaso has further fuelled speculation of a broader political realignment in the state.
