Kwara United Beat Abakaliki FC On Penalties, Lift 2025 Federation Cup • Channels Television
Kwara United have won the President Federation Cup after defeating giant killers Abakaliki FC 4-3 on penalties.
The final, which was played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, entered straight into penalties after both teams failed to find the back of the net in regulation time.
Kwara United recovered from missing their first attempt to score the next four and clinched the trophy for the first time.
The Afonja Warriors’ victory on Saturday will see them represent Nigeria in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
The lower league side Abakaliki FC had a fairytale run in the competition, beating several big teams on their way to the final.
