BREAKING: Labour Party begins primary election ahead of Anambra guber | Details+ Photos
The Labour Party under the leadership of Barrister Julius Abure has began accreditation process for the party’s primary election today, April 5th ahead of the November governorship election in Anambra state.
As at the time of filing this reports, INEC officials and National executive delegates are present monitoring the primary electoral process holding at Finotel hotels and suites, Awkwa, Anambra state.
Trust base News correspondent reports that the process is going smoothly.
There had been reports that the primary election was cancelled .
Speaking to the media at the venue, the National Vice Chairman, south east of the Labour Party, Mr Ceekay Igara said;
“Don’t mind what distractors are saying. Labour party is moving on and the gates of hell cannot prevail. Anambra primary is ongoing, and it is going to be the most transparent, most credible election ever witnessed in Nigeria.
In the words of the Chairman of the Anambra state primary election committee Hon. Etanabene Benedict;
“The leadership of the party is no longer in contention. This primary will usher in new progress into the labour party.
For the national youth leader cum the secretary of the election committee, Prince Kennedy Ahanotu, he has this to say;
“Today, Labour party will have a governorship candidate in Anambra state. If you can see, the venue is adjacent to the government house which means that we are strategically taking over.
