Man climbs high tension, demands Tinubu’s resignation | WATCH VIDEO
A yet to be identified man, between the morning of Friday September 27 and evening of Saturday, September 28, refused to come down from a 33KV high tension electricity pole in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area of Adamawa State until president Bola Tinubu resigns.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguruje, the man was rescued on Saturday night and taken into Police custody in the state capital, Yola.
The Police had to get some locals to persuade him to descend from the pole.
“The Command is going to parade the man today (Monday) for attempting suicide,” Nguroje said, adding that attempting suicide is a criminal offence under Nigeria’s constitution.
“We are going to charge him to court,” Nguroje asserted.
He added that the Police has a duty to protect lives and property and that when any individual attempts to take his life, the individual has to be made to face the law.
