NPFL: Rivers United deserved draw against El-Kanemi Warriors – Finidi
Rivers United technical adviser Finidi George has said his side deserved a share of the spoils against El-kanemi Warriors in Sunday ‘s Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, matchday three encounter.
Finidi’s side held their hosts to a 0-0 draw at the El-kanemi Stadium, Maiduguri.
The Port Harcourt club are unbeaten in the NPFL this season, with one win, and two draws.
Finidi said they can return to their base with satisfaction after picking their second point on the road this season.
“Overall, I think we’re quite happy with the result. The first half was 50-50. In the second half, particularly in the last 25 minutes, they pushed us back, and we had to defend while looking to play on the counter attack,” the gaffer said.
Rivers United occupy eighth position in the NPFL log with five points from three games.
