Ombugadu dumps APC weeks after defection amid guber ambition in Nasarawa
Former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, David Emmanuel Ombugadu, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), just weeks after joining the ruling party.
Ombugadu, popularly known as Davematics, confirmed his decision on Tuesday, bringing an abrupt end to his short stay in the APC.
His resignation comes amid concerns raised by a political group alleging a plan to frustrate his governorship ambition ahead of the 2027 elections.
The group also accused party stakeholders of manipulating the recently conducted electronic membership registration exercise, claiming it was designed to favour a preferred aspirant expected to succeed Governor Abdullahi Sule.
Ombugadu had only recently defected to the APC after leaving the PDP, citing the prolonged leadership crisis within the opposition party as the reason for his exit.
APC, nasarawa, Ombugadu,
