Pacesetter Queens set for maiden appearance in 2025/26 NWFL season
Pacesetter Queens have secured a place in the Nigeria Women’s Football League, NWFL, for the 2025/26 season.
The Oyo State-owned team acquired the slot of Benue Queens, marking their maiden appearance in the top flight.
The promotion was confirmed by the Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Alhaja Wasilat Adefemi Adegoke.
Pacesetter Queens will serve as the official women’s team of Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL side, Shooting Stars.
The South-West region now boasts seven teams in the NWFL: Robo Queens, Dannaz Ladies (Lagos), Remo Stars Ladies, Castmog Ladies (Ogun), Sunshine Queens (Ondo), Osun Babes (Osun), and Pacesetter Queens (Oyo).
The kickoff date and fixtures for the new season are expected to be announced during the league’s Annual General Assembly in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, October 29, 2025.
