A commercial bus popularly called Danfo, conveying passengers on Wednesday, plunged into a lagoon at the third mainland bridge in Lagos state.
According to an eyewitness, Akinola Adeniyi, the bus traveling from Iyana-Oworo to the Island suddenly plunged into the lagoon due to excessive speeding by the driver at about 11:30am.
Emergency response teams, including personnel from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and the Police, swiftly arrived at the scene to initiate rescue operations.
Nifemi Oguntoye, in a post on X, said: “The Federal Road Safety Corps has now employed local divers to search for two persons, male and female, still under the water.”
