The Ohafia Improvement Union Aba branch, Youth Wing Football Competition kicks off among the 26 Villages of Ohafia in Aba.
The event is aimed at refocusing the youths positively and encouraging them to be useful to themselves, the society and as well shun all negative and criminal tendencies that may have been seen as eaten deep into the minds of most youths.
The Opening Ceremony of the competition took place on October 2 at the All Saints Secondary school Aba. The match was between Elu Ohafia and Ebem Ohafia Aba branches respectively. Ebem Ohafia won the first game by 3 goals to nothing against their opponent.
In an opening address, Hon Ceekay Igara, the Abia State Labour Party Chairman and Chief Nwaobilor Ananaba, the Abia State Commissioner of Sports, who were Special guests at the event, charged the Youths to avoid all negative tendencies that may affect their talents and they were assured to also prepare themselves for exposure through this competition as this is also a talent hunt.
In a vote of thanks , the Youth President appreciated their presence in honouring their invitations and informed them, that the Youths are proud of them for their good works.
