South East Governor suspends Commissioners, Other top Aides
In his continued effort to shun dereliction of duty and indiscipline of any sort, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has directed that one month suspension from duty without pay, of some top government officials including members of the State Executive Council.
Governor Nwifuru in a release endorsed by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr Monday Uzor on Monday explained the officials bagged the suspension for failing to honour a state function.
The affected functionaries include: Twenty Five Commissioners, Fourteen Senior Special Assistants, Twenty Four Special Assistants and Twenty Two Permanent Secretaries.
The Governor therefore directed the affected officers not to sign any official document within the period of their suspension.
He further ordered the Commissioners to hand over to their respective permanent Secretaries as the suspension is with immediate effect.
