
The President Ahmed Tinibu, on Tuesday, met with Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State and the Minister of Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike the immediate past Governor of the State.
Tinubu met with the two political leaders of the State at the Aso Villa in the nation’s capital, Abuja.
This was disclosed by the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed after the Nigeria Police Council meeting held at the Villa today.
According Governor Mohammed , President Tinibu steps in, on the political and security challenges currently in Rivers State.
The meeting of the President with the two politicians who are members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) followed the impeachment proceedings launched against Fubara by the Rivers State House of Assembly on Monday.
The governor is accused of acts of gross misconduct unbecoming of his office.
The Assembly Complex was turned to a confusion theatre after fire gutted a section of the building on Sunday night and the attendant drama that occurred on Monday morning with the removal of principal officers in the Assembly as gunshots rent the air.
Fubara had walked to the Assembly Complex on Monday to see the level of the damage and He alleged that police shot at him which allegation the police made a release and said was aware of the development in the State which is being probed.
