WAFCON 2026Q: Madugu seeks comfortable win over Benin’s Amazons
Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu is firmly focused on his side’s clash with the Amazons of Benin Republic.
The holders are eyeing a place at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Nigeria will be up against their neighbours in the first leg of the final qualifying round tie at the Stade de Kegue on Lome.
The Super Falcons are overwhelming favourites to scale through the hurdle.
Madugu is targeting a big win in the first leg tie.
“We have a team that will go out there and make us proud. Yes, we would have loved to have Jennifer (Echegini) but we do not and we can only pray for her to recover quickly,” he told thenff.com.
“On Friday, we will go out and play our game and seek the goals that will put us in a good stead ahead of the return leg.”
The reverse fixture will hold at the Moshood Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta, next week Tuesday.
