2026 WCQ: Rohr names Remo Stars goalkeeper in squad for Super Eagles clash
Benin Republic head coach Gernot Rohr has named Remo Stars goalkeeper Serge Obassa in his 25-man squad for the Squirrels 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Nigeria, DAILY POST reports.
Rohr, who once handled the Super Eagles, unveiled his squad at a press conference in Cotonou on Friday.
Obassa has established himself as Remo Stars’ first choice goalkeeper since arriving the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, Champions at the start of last season.
Goalkeeper Saturnin Allagbe, Olivier Verdon, Mohamed Tjani ,and Cedric Hountounji are among the regulars included in the squad by Rohr.
Other regulars in the team are captain Steve Mounie, Junior Olaitan, Jodel Dossou and Tosin Ayegun.
The Squirrels will be away to the Amavubi of Rwanda at the Amahoro Stadium, Kigali on Friday, October.
They will also be on the road four days later with a clash against the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
