Army urges public to remain calm as troops move in state for promotion exams
The Nigerian Army has urged members of the public in Rivers State not to panic over the movement of troops and officials as it conducts the Captain to Major Practical Promotion Examination for 2025.
The Headquarters of the 6 Division, Nigerian Army, stated that the exercise will take place between 6 and 10 October in Port Harcourt and Elele Barracks, and will involve large movements of candidates as well as physical activities.
“Candidates will be participating in a 13-kilometre endurance walk, traversing some adjoining communities around Port Harcourt Barracks,” Acting Deputy Director, 6 Division Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Danjuma Jonah Danjuma, explained in a statement on Thursday.
Danjuma assured that adequate measures have been put in place to ensure public safety and smooth traffic flow along designated routes.
