The victims are currently receiving medical treatment, and our thoughts are with them and their families during this difficult time.
This incident underscores the urgent need for enhanced safety measures and infrastructure maintenance to prevent such accidents in the future. We call upon relevant authorities to investigate the cause of the billboard’s collapse so as to take necessary actions to ensure public safety.
As we mourn this loss, the Labour Party in Abia and indeed the Southeast extends its heartfelt condolences to the families affected by this tragedy. We stand in solidarity with the people of Aba and Abia state and remain committed to advocating for policies that prioritise the safety and well-being of all citizens.
